Comfort House Offers Good-Touch/Bad-Touch Program

Comfort House staff presented the Good-Touch/Bad-Touch program to 339 students in North Harrison, New Middletown and South Central Elementary Schools during the Spring 2009 semester. This program is a comprehensive child abuse prevention curriculum designed for Pre-school and Kindergarten through sixth grade students, which works as a tool to teach children the skills they need to play a significant role in prevention or interruption of child abuse/sexual abuse and bullying in their own lives. Children are taught what abuse and bullying are; are given prevention skills including personal body safety rules; and are motivated into action if threatened or victimized. The program has been formally evaluated by major universities and has been recognized several times for its effectiveness. If you are interested in arranging a Good-Touch/Bad-Touch Program for your school classroom, please contact Melissa Cast at (812) 225-5437 or by e-mail at melissa@comfort-house.org.

*A SPECIAL THANK YOU TO THE HARRISON COUNTY COMMUNITY FOUNDATION FOR PROVIDING THE NECESSARY FUNDING TO PURCHASE THE GOOD-TOUCH/BAD-TOUCH PROGRAM!
